It had been long expressed by the membership that they wanted to go to Branson for a reunion so the leadership has decided to go with that choice. The reunion originally was scheduled for North Little Rock in the hope that the USS ORLECK might be home-ported there as a museum. That hope has all but disappeared and thus, even though the city is a wonderful one for military reunions, the primary reason for us going there no longer applies. See the Forum on this website for information on USS ORLECK and her search for a new home.
I have been working on the details of this reunion for about 4 months. I have visited twice in the past 3 years. I know what Branson has to offer and I have chosen the best for us. It will be a fine reunion and again will take place August 7-10, 2008 in Branson. Look for updated details in the mail and on the forum on this website.
Early registration is
set for December 31, 2007. Those registering early will pay $198.00
and those registering after the early registration deadline will pay
$225.00 each. So by registering early you get a reduced rate but there
is more. For those who register early they will be entered into a drawing
with the first prize that will be worth 3 nights free stay at the Grand
Plaza Hotel, our Reunion Hotel and it is a beautiful hotel. There will
be other valuable prizes for those registering early as well.
For those who have not been to Branson you are in for a wonderful surprise.
Simply said, “Branson makes you feel good and celebrates your service
and patriotism everywhere you turn”. There is great entertainment
and food and so much to do. For those who have been there you know that
but the reunion I have set up will allow you to experience some things
I doubt you have done. As usual, I have not relied on any reunion planners
who do these events for a fee and you get the “one fits all “ type
of reunion. I have gone there, experienced what Branson has to offer
and then tailored the event to fit you. I have done this for our past
reunions and I have not changed for this reunion. I have geared the
reunion so you can experience some great things in Branson but not so
much that you are exhausted and have little time to spend with your
friends and family. You will also have a lot of time to enjoy one another
and to go away glad you had come.
Please plan to register early for the planning is helped greatly by
that and by doing so you will be able to enjoy a reduced registration
rate and have the opportunity to win 3 free nights at our hotel and
other valuable prizes.

The price for adults will be $198 per person for all the above (and more) if you register early (by December 31, 2007). After early registration the rate will go up to $225 and that will occur on January 1, 2008. Fill out the above form and return it with your payment.

You will be responsible for making your reservations and paying for your hotel room. The above registration fee is just for the event and includes what is listed above. Just so there is no confusion you will be paying for your hotel room. We have a special rate for USS ORLECK of $76 per night for a standard room. There are also other options for rooms available from a mini-suite for $102, a King feature suite for $122 and a Family Suite for $139. I would suggest the standard room because you will be spending most of your time away from the room. The rooms are beautiful and there have been major renovations recently at the hotel. When reserving make sure they are aware you are registering for the DESTROYER USS ORLECK reunion.
Contact the hotel and make your reservations now! Reservations received after 7/7/08 will be provided on a space available basis. This does not mean we will have rooms available up to 7/7/08 but only that if we still have rooms we have blocked that have not been rented they will go back into the hotel inventory for sale to the public and thus after that date you will have to pay the current price and compete for any rooms that are available. That is why I suggest you register right now. If things change you can always cancel your room prior to the reunion.
